CSAE Names Association Professional of the Year and Associate Member of the Year.
DENVER, Colo., June 22, 2011 – Tim Jackson, president of the Colorado Automobile Dealers Association (CADA), was named Association Professional of the Year by the Colorado Society of Association Executives (CSAE). The award was announced today by Linda Farrell, CPA and CSAE’s president.
Farrell said, “The Association Professional of the Year award is only given to a chief executive officer or association management executive for outstanding service and accomplishments in association management and Tim is more than deserving of this award.”
Jackson, who has been president of CADA since 2004 and served as CSAE’s president in 2001-2002, also holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation which is considered one of the most prestigious professional designations for association managers. He is one of only 41 association executives who have earned the CAE in Colorado.
Jackson said, “I was not only very pleased but very surprised to be honored with this award because there are so many deserving members. I am proud to support CSAE’s role in improving our association’s leadership skills.”
Linda Schafer with GL Specialties was named CSAE’s Associate Member of the Year. This award is presented to an associate member in recognition of exemplary service and support to the association profession and to the Colorado Society of Association Executives.
CSAE Executive Director Joan Tezak, CAE, CMP, added, “Both the Associate of the Year and Association Professional of the Year awards have not been given since 2005. Rather than simply awarding this yearly, the leadership of CSAE felt it should reserve The Professional of the Year award for professionals who truly exhibit the best of the best in association management. And, the Associate of the Year should only be given to a member who consistently, over time, has demonstrated true service to the association community.”
Farrell also recognized the volunteer efforts of CSAE members for their special work throughout the year. Those recognized included: Leslie Shivers; Suzanne Hagen, Proforma; Wendy Grillo, CAE; Keith Segundo; Nancy Erickson, MBA, CAE, Association for Theatre in Higher Education; and Jeff Arnold, MAM, CAE, Association Services Management Company.
